Boiler feedwater circuits are safety-critical industrial pressure systems operating under high pressures governed by ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section I. No physical pump procurement, motor sizing, or pipe installation should take place based solely on automated web outputs.
Final equipment selection must be reviewed, recalculated, and approved by a qualified Professional Engineer (PE) who takes responsibility for the specific site conditions, local code requirements, and actual manufacturer pump curves (API 610 / ISO 9906).
2. Thermodynamic Approximations
Water density, saturation pressure, and viscosity equations utilized within this calculator are based on IAPWS-IF97 standards or high-accuracy polynomial approximations valid within 0°C to 250°C. While highly accurate, actual site conditions (fluid purity, chemical treatment additives, dissolved oxygen levels) may alter specific physical properties slightly.
